Boston Foundation Provides Grant to End Chronic Homelessness in the City
Many Boston real estate experts and analysts believe that in order for the entire real estate market, indeed the economy generally, to improve it is important for all sectors of society to have access to appropriate housing. Boston real estate market stability will be obtained when all market segments are in the best possible position. Indeed, most Boston real estate analysts believe that the problems with the real estate market generally arose out of the sub-prime sector of the marketplace.
Therefore, the fact that the Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance – MHSA – has been awarded a grant from the Boston Foundation has an impact beyond those people in the city that are homeless. The grant is entitled “Beyond Home & Healthy for Good: An Initiative to End Chronic Homelessness.” The grant is designed to put homeless individuals into permanent housing, including Boston apartments for rent, and to provide these individuals with a wide array of different types of supportive services.
The Boston Foundation has assets of over $760 million and is considered to be one of the oldest community foundations in the country. The Boston Foundation plays a significant role in the support of a variety of different not for profit organizations throughout the city.
